On vtk online, basic procedures and techniques for planning and conducting animal experiments are demonstrated. The content is based on the training framework recommended by the EU (Expert working group for Education and training). Topics include law, ethics, 3Rs, breeding and husbandry, handling and administration of substances, anesthesia and analgesia, assessment of the well-being of laboratory animals, and some surgical procedures.

Access is free of charge, but registration with a professional email address is required.

Person working with laboratory animals must be adequately educated and trained and must undergo regular CPD. las campus offers various online training courses for this purpose. In addition, modules can be put together on request.

The courses are designed for teaching/acquiring the knowledge required for animal experiment work according to EU recommendations and, in Germany, according to the ordinance on protection of laboratory animals (TierSchVersV). A course thus consists of several parts: a general part (Course 01 - general part) and relevant species-specific content (Courses 01.1 and following courses). The composition of the course may be adapted to country-specific requirements. The main focus at present is on the training required in Germany for people who conduct or plan and design animal experiments (TierSchVersV Annex 1 Section 3).

Against this background, “courses” are only open to participants whose institute/facility/course organizer have concluded a framework agreement with LAS interactive and then guarantees/provides practical training for participants.
